OH|ID strengthens the security and privacy of Ohioans by offering 3 levels of identity assurance: self-assertion, multi-factor authentication, and identity proofing. The OH|ID product additionally provides the ability to tie a digital identity to a physical identity (e.g. driver’s license).
Users can access multiple on-boarded applications by authenticating only once with their OH|ID, providing a simplified user experience for users interacting with State of Ohio programs and applications.
2-Factor Authentication (2FA)
The process by which a user provides two different means of verifying their identity. This approach provides a greater level of security than single factor authentication.
The ability to identify and authenticate the legitimacy of a person, essentially to confirm that an individual is who they say they are. Sensitive applications with NIST or other advanced standards or security requirements are good use cases for identity proofing.
Automated log collection and analysis with advanced correlation and pattern recognition to help detect and prevent fraudulent activity. ODX utilizes IBM’s Qradar SIEM solution, which enables the development of security alerts and warnings to support identification of fraudulent activity.
Structure for managing changes to user accounts, including provisioning, de-provisioning, and delegated administration, throughout the life cycle of that account. User access is based on identity attributes and roles.
Provides significant advantages to end users by eliminating the need to manage multiple user IDs and passwords to access web software applications. This, in turn, increases convenience and efficiency, while improving access and boosting user adoption.
Analytics that enable the State to record, observe and investigate user behavior within the OH|ID platform in near real time. Real time analysis allows for rapid response to fraudulent or suspect user behavior.
